Synthetic Fibre Shackle is a soft recovery shackle used to join ropes, strops and recovery points when rigging a vehicle recovery. Supplied as a pair.

Each shackle is constructed from 11mm 12-strand UHMWPE rope treated with a UV inhibitor to resist degradation from prolonged sunlight exposure, and has a minimum breaking load of 5,830 kg. As a soft shackle it stores far less kinetic energy than a steel bow shackle, reducing the hazard should a rope or strop fail under load. It attaches directly to a standard towing eye without the metal-on-metal contact that can mark paintwork.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Synthetic Fibre Shackle used for?
The Synthetic Fibre Shackle is a soft recovery shackle used to join ropes, strops and recovery points when rigging a vehicle recovery. It attaches directly to a standard towing eye or recovery point. Supplied as a pair.
Why use a soft shackle instead of a steel bow shackle?
A soft shackle stores far less kinetic energy than a steel bow shackle, so it's less hazardous if a rope or strop fails under load. It also attaches without the metal-on-metal contact that can mark paintwork, and it's lighter to handle.
How many soft shackles do I get and how many do I need?
GA7336 is supplied as a pair. A basic recovery rig typically uses at least two shackles, for example one at each end of a strop or to link a winch rope to a recovery point, so a pair covers most simple setups.
Does this recovery shackle fit any vehicle?
Yes, this soft shackle isn't vehicle-specific. It attaches to any standard towing eye or rated recovery point, so it suits Land Rover and other 4x4 recovery rigging. Always connect it only to a properly rated recovery point.
