Main bearing set for the three-bearing 2.25L four-cylinder engine, forming the crankshaft support in the cylinder block bottom end.

The shells locate in the main bearing housings of the block and are clamped by the main bearing caps. They carry the crankshaft main journals and maintain the oil film that is fed onward through the crankshaft drillings to the big-end journals, so main bearing clearance governs oil pressure across the whole bottom end.

Supplied at 0.040in service size, to suit main journals reground from standard, and sold as an engine set.
