Automatic Transmission Fluid for the JF506E five-speed automatic transmission. Supplied in a 1 litre container.
The fluid meets the JF506E specification. That gearbox is sensitive to fluid type: the friction characteristics of the fluid are what the clutch packs and the torque converter lock-up clutch are calibrated around, so a general-purpose ATF can produce shift shudder, harsh engagement and accelerated wear.
It is a synthetic-base formulation, dyed red for leak identification, with the oxidation and thermal stability needed for the sump and cooler-circuit temperatures an automatic transmission reaches in normal service, and with anti-foam and corrosion inhibitors to keep hydraulic pressure stable in the valve block.
