Fuel Filter - in-tank filter mounted on the fuel pump and sender assembly, part of the fuel tank pump, sender and mountings group.

The filter screens fuel drawn from the tank before it passes through the in-tank pump, protecting the pump and the downstream injection system from sediment and particulate contamination that collects in the tank over time. Fitted to the 1.8L K-Series petrol installation.

Access requires the in-tank pump and sender unit to be withdrawn through the tank aperture.

Frequently asked questions

What is the WFL100160 fuel filter used for?
This in-tank fuel filter screens fuel drawn from the tank before it passes through the in-tank pump on the Freelander 1 (1996-2006) 1.8L petrol. It protects the pump and the downstream injection system from sediment and particulate that collects in the tank over time.
Where is this fuel filter located?
The filter is mounted on the fuel pump and sender assembly inside the tank, part of the fuel tank pump, sender and mountings group. Access requires the in-tank pump and sender unit to be withdrawn through the tank aperture, so it's not a quick change.
What are the signs this fuel filter needs replacing?
A clogged in-tank filter typically shows as fuel starvation under load, hesitation or hard starting on the Freelander 1 petrol. Sitting before the pump, a blocked filter makes the pump work harder. It's usually renewed whenever the in-tank pump assembly is disturbed.
