Drag Link Assembly - steering linkage, front axle.

The drag link transmits movement from the drop arm on the steering box output shaft across to the steering arm on the swivel housing, turning the box's rotary output into the lateral push and pull that steers the road wheels. It is the front tube of the two-tube steering linkage; the longer track rod behind it, which carries the steering damper bracket and runs between both swivel housings, is a separate part and should not be confused with this one.

Supplied as a complete assembly - the tube with its clamps and fixings and a ball joint threaded into each end - so nothing needs to be transferred from the old linkage. Nominal tube length is approximately 863 mm.

The threaded ends allow the linkage to be adjusted. Set the length before final tightening, check and reset front wheel alignment and steering wheel centring after fitting, and tighten the clamp bolts only once the adjustment is final.
