Track Rod End for the left-hand side, part of the steering linkage between the rack and the front hub carrier.

The track rod end is the outer balljoint of the steering linkage: it screws onto the threaded end of the track rod and its tapered stud clamps into the steering arm on the hub carrier, transferring rack movement into steering angle while allowing the joint to articulate with suspension travel. The threaded shank sets front toe, so wheel alignment must be checked and reset after fitting.

Wear shows as free play at the joint, knocking over uneven surfaces, vague steering and uneven tyre shoulder wear. A split or perished boot lets grease escape and water in, and is itself grounds for replacement.
