Front Lower Wishbone - forward lower control arm of the front double-wishbone suspension, locating the base of the hub carrier relative to the front subframe.

The inboard end is bushed to the subframe and the outboard end carries a ball joint into the steering knuckle, so the arm controls the wheel's fore-aft and lateral position while allowing it to steer and to travel vertically with the spring. The same arm serves both the left- and right-hand front positions.

Worn bushes or a worn outer ball joint show as knocking over uneven surfaces, vague steering and drifting alignment. An arm bent by kerb or pothole impact cannot be corrected by adjustment and must be replaced; wheel alignment should be checked and reset after fitting.
