Frequently asked questions

What does this Ride Height Sensor do?
This Ride Height Sensor measures ride height at the rear left-hand corner of the Range Rover Evoque L538. It provides position data used by the adaptive Magnetic Damping (MagneRide) system and the automatic headlamp levelling. Without a working sensor, the car can't read that corner's height correctly.
Which corner of the vehicle does this sensor fit?
This is the rear left-hand (LH) Ride Height Sensor on the Range Rover Evoque L538. It's corner-specific, so it won't substitute for the front or rear right-hand sensor. One is fitted per corner, and SAP fitment lists quantity 1 for this rear LH position.
Does my Evoque need the Magnetic Damping system for this sensor?
Yes. This sensor fits the Range Rover Evoque L538 (2012-2018) with the Magnetic Damping System (MagneRide adaptive damping), across all engines. Vehicles without adaptive damping use a different setup, so check your Evoque has MagneRide before ordering this rear LH sensor.
What are the signs the ride height sensor has failed?
A failed rear Ride Height Sensor typically triggers a suspension or adaptive damping warning and can upset automatic headlamp levelling on the Evoque L538. The car may log a fault for that corner. Replacing the rear LH sensor restores correct height readings to the MagneRide system.
