Ride Height Sensor - Front Right is the rotary position sensor of the electronically controlled suspension system, fitted at the front right-hand corner.

The sensor body is fixed to the vehicle structure and a drop link couples its lever arm to the front suspension arm, so suspension travel is converted into an angular position signal. The suspension control module reads that signal to determine instantaneous wheel travel and body attitude, and adjusts adaptive damper valving accordingly. On air suspension installations the same signal governs levelling and ride height selection.

Ride height sensors are calibrated to the vehicle, so a replacement requires the ride height calibration routine to be run with diagnostic equipment before the suspension will control normally.
