Rear Axle Pinion Repair Kit - service kit for the drive pinion in the rear differential assembly.

The drive pinion transmits torque from the propshaft flange into the crown wheel. Wear in the pinion bearings or loss of pinion preload shows up as driveline whine, excessive backlash, or a leak at the pinion oil seal, and is addressed by rebuilding the pinion rather than replacing the complete differential carrier.

Pinion preload must be re-set to specification on reassembly.

Is rebuilding the rear pinion a DIY job?
