Front Shock Absorber Isolator - the rubber isolating bush at the upper mounting of the front suspension damper.

It seats between the damper rod's upper mounting and the body-side damper turret, cushioning that interface so damper loads and road-borne vibration are not fed directly into the body structure. Once the rubber perishes or collapses, the damper rod is free to knock in its mounting, usually heard as a rattle or clonk from the front suspension over broken surfaces.

Renew both sides together, and fit new isolators whenever a front damper is replaced.
