Rear Suspension Damper from the rear road spring and damper assembly, mounted between the rear suspension arm and its body mounting.

The damper converts the energy of rear suspension movement into heat through valved hydraulic flow, controlling compression and rebound of the rear road spring so that the tyres stay in contact with the road and rear-end float over undulations is suppressed. This unit carries the firmer damping rate specified for the sports suspension option.

Dampers are renewed as an axle pair so that damping rates remain matched from side to side.
