Shock Absorber for the rear suspension, comfort suspension specification with adaptive control damping.

The damper works alongside the rear road spring to control wheel and body movement, and forms part of the adaptive damping system. Rather than running a single fixed rate, the unit is switched electrically by the suspension control electronics between a softer and a firmer damping characteristic in response to road input and driver demand.

It is not interchangeable with the passive damper used on vehicles built without adaptive control damping. Two are fitted per vehicle and are replaced as a pair so that damping stays balanced across the axle.
