Shock Absorber for the rear suspension, sport suspension specification with adaptive control damping.

A gas-pressure monotube damper, supplied without a road spring, mounting by an eye at the lower end and a pin at the upper end. It controls rear wheel and body movement alongside the road spring, and forms part of the adaptive damping system: the unit is switched electrically by the suspension control electronics between a softer and a firmer damping characteristic in response to road input and driver demand.

It is not interchangeable with the passive damper used on vehicles built without adaptive control damping. Two are fitted per vehicle and are replaced as a pair so that damping stays balanced across the axle.
