Front suspension damper for adaptive control damping with the standard suspension calibration, working within the front road spring and damper assembly.

The damper controls the rate at which the front road spring compresses and rebounds, keeping the tyre loaded against the road surface and restraining body movement under cornering, braking and acceleration. On adaptive control damping the unit carries a solenoid-operated valve that the suspension control module switches between damping settings according to vehicle speed and driver inputs, so it is electrically connected and is not interchangeable with the passive damper fitted to cars without adaptive control damping.

Dampers wear progressively rather than failing outright. Fluid leakage down the body, a knock from the upper mount, or a gradual loss of body control are the usual indications. Replace in axle pairs so that damping is matched side to side. The bump stop is not supplied with the damper and is ordered separately as MND2150AB. The Sports-calibration counterpart is MND2140GD.
