Rear Shock Absorber - heavy-duty hydraulic damper for the rear suspension, built to military specification for high-load, sustained off-road duty.

Mounted between the axle-side lower bracket and the chassis upper mounting, it damps rear spring oscillation and controls axle rebound under load. The heavier-duty valving and body construction are intended for rough-terrain work and higher gross weights than a standard passenger-specification damper, where a road-specification unit would fade under repeated large-amplitude travel.

This part number replaces the earlier STC3087 damper. Replace in pairs across the axle so damping stays balanced side to side.
