Frequently asked questions

What does the TRX000010L front differential oil seal do?
The TRX000010L front differential oil seal keeps gear oil inside the front differential and stops dirt and water getting in where the drive shaft passes into the housing. It's a rotary shaft seal that runs against the rotating drive flange. It fits the Freelander 1 with the M47 2.0L diesel and manual transmission.
What are the signs this diff oil seal needs replacing?
A worn front differential oil seal typically shows as oil weeping or dripping from the drive flange where the shaft enters the diff. Left too long it can let the diff lose oil and draw in water. Replacing the seal when a leak appears protects the differential from wear.
Which Freelander does this front diff seal fit?
This front differential oil seal fits the Land Rover Freelander 1 (1996-2006) with the M47 2.0L diesel engine and manual transmission. It's the front diff output seal, made by Corteco. Confirm your engine and gearbox match before ordering, as the seal is specific to this driveline.
