Front Hub and Bearing Assembly for rear-wheel-drive applications, part of the front suspension hub assembly.

The unit bolts to the front vertical link (steering knuckle) and carries the road wheel and brake disc on its mounting flange, locating the wheel and taking the vertical, cornering and braking loads. The bearing is a sealed, pre-set unit supplied complete with the hub flange, so it is replaced as an assembly rather than repacked or re-shimmed.

This is the rear-wheel-drive version, with no driveshaft passing through the hub; all-wheel-drive applications take a different hub and bearing assembly.

A worn hub bearing usually shows as a speed-dependent rumble or drone that changes as cornering load shifts from one side to the other, and can also disturb the wheel speed signal and set an ABS fault.
