Choke Cable - control cable in the cold-start circuit of the V8 carburettor installation.
It runs from the driver's choke control on the facia to the choke lever on the carburettor, an inner cable within an outer sleeve pulling the choke linkage as the control is withdrawn. The control holds its set position so enrichment can be wound off progressively as the engine warms.

A stiff or stretched cable stops the choke returning fully and leaves the mixture over-rich. Check the outer sleeve for kinks along its run and the inner cable for fraying at the carburettor end.
