Tyre Pressure Sensor - wheel-mounted sensor forming part of the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

The sensor is fitted at the valve position inside the wheel rim, where it measures inflation pressure and internal air temperature and transmits the reading by radio link to the vehicle's TPMS receiver module. The module compares the reported pressure against the placard value and raises the low-pressure warning to the driver. Operating frequency 433 MHz; sensor type TG1D.

Four sensors are used per vehicle, one per road wheel. Each sensor must be registered to the vehicle after fitting so the module can associate it with the correct wheel position, and the valve seal and core should be renewed at the same time.
