Secondary Accessory Drive Belt - the supercharger drive belt within the front end accessory drive of the supercharged petrol V6 and V8 engines.

Measuring 1430 mm, this multi-ribbed belt runs from the crankshaft pulley over the secondary tensioner and idler pulley to the supercharger drive pulley, driving the supercharger independently of the primary belt that turns the alternator, air conditioning compressor and water pump.

A slipping, cracked or glazed secondary belt reduces boost delivery and can cause belt squeal under load. Inspect the secondary tensioner and idler pulley whenever the belt is renewed.
