Frequently asked questions

What is the ERR4623G drive belt?
The ERR4623G is the polyvee serpentine drive belt for the Rover V8 EFI petrol engine with air conditioning. It's the 2250mm belt (7PK2250 profile) that drives the alternator, water pump, power steering and A/C compressor from the crankshaft pulley.
Which Land Rovers does the ERR4623G fit?
The ERR4623G fits the Discovery 1 (1989-1998) V8 EFI petrol with air conditioning and the Range Rover Classic (1992-1994) V8 EFI with A/C from VIN JA610294. V8s without air conditioning use a different belt length.
When should the drive belt be replaced?
A drive belt should be replaced once it shows cracks, glazing, fraying or squeals on start-up. Age, heat and oil contamination perish the rubber. If it snaps, the water pump and alternator stop turning, so don't leave a worn belt on the V8.
