Coolant Bleed Hose - small-bore hose in the engine cooling system, serving the expansion tank circuit.

It carries air and coolant displaced from the high points of the cooling system back to the expansion tank, allowing the system to bleed itself as it warms and preventing air pockets forming around the thermostat housing and radiator top rail. Listed for 4-cylinder TDi and V8 EFi installations; two are fitted per vehicle.

Bleed hoses harden and crack with age and heat cycling. A perished hose causes slow coolant loss and persistent air in the system, often mistaken for a head gasket fault.
