Crankshaft Sprocket is the timing gear mounted on the nose of the crankshaft.

Fitted to the 2.0L 16-valve turbocharged petrol engine, it drives the timing chain from the crankshaft, transferring crankshaft rotation into the camshaft timing drive. It is renewed during timing chain service work.
