Front Brake Pad Wear Sensor for the front axle brake assembly, forming part of the brake pad wear warning circuit.

The sensor is a wire loop carried in a slot in the brake pad backing plate and connected into the vehicle wiring harness. As the friction material wears down, the brake disc contacts and severs the loop, breaking the circuit and triggering the pad wear warning to the driver.

The sensor is consumed once it has triggered and must be renewed whenever the front pads are replaced. Harness length and connector routing differ between the front brake packages, so the sensor must be matched to the front disc and caliper size fitted to the vehicle.
