Front Brake Pad Wear Sensor for the front axle brake assembly, part of the brake pad wear warning circuit.

The sensor consists of a wire loop seated in the brake pad backing plate and wired into the vehicle harness. When the friction material has worn to its limit the disc cuts through the loop, opening the circuit and raising the pad wear warning on the instrument panel.

This is a single-use item: once the loop has been severed the sensor cannot be reused, and a new sensor should be fitted with every front pad change. Sensor lead length is specific to the front brake package, so the disc and caliper size fitted to the vehicle must be confirmed before ordering.
