Cabin Pollen Filter, 272x195x43mm - the filter element in the HVAC intake housing, installed upstream of the blower motor and evaporator.
All air drawn into the cabin passes through it, so it traps pollen, road dust, soot and brake particulate before they reach the occupants and before they can settle on the evaporator fins. It is specified as a combined odour and particle element, so it also adsorbs traffic fumes and exhaust odours.
A loaded filter is the most common cause of weak airflow from the vents, slow demisting and a musty smell when the fan first starts. Replacement is a routine service operation; renew the element at the scheduled interval, or sooner where the vehicle is used in dusty or heavy-traffic conditions.
