Oil Pressure Switch from the engine lubrication system.

The switch threads into an oil gallery and monitors lubricating oil pressure, signalling the engine control module so the low oil pressure warning is raised once pressure falls below the switching threshold. It is used across the Ingenium petrol and diesel engine range.

A faulty switch commonly produces a spurious low oil pressure warning or a stored pressure-signal fault with no actual loss of pressure. The sealing face must be clean on assembly and the switch torqued to specification - overtightening can crack the switch body.
