Main Bearing Set - the main bearing shells that support the crankshaft in the cylinder block.

The shells locate in the main bearing saddles of the block and in the bearing caps, running on the crankshaft main journals and carrying the oil film fed from the main gallery. Supplied in standard size, for a crankshaft whose main journals are at original diameter and have not been reground undersize.

For the 3.6L TDV8 and 4.4L SDV8 diesel engines. Main shells are renewed as a complete set whenever the crankshaft is removed.
