Mass Air Flow Sensor is fitted in the air cleaner assembly of the 4.4L DOHC V8 diesel engine, downstream of the air filter.
It measures the mass of intake air drawn into the engine and signals the engine control module, which uses the reading to set fuelling, boost and exhaust gas recirculation.
