What is the RH inlet manifold gasket for?
The right-hand inlet manifold gasket seals the joint between the inlet manifold and the cylinder head on the right bank, keeping the induction path leak-free. Fitted to the 4.4L DOHC twin-turbo V8 diesel in Range Rover L322, L405 and Range Rover Sport L320 and L494.
Do I need the left-hand gasket as well?
This gasket is the right-hand bank only. The 4.4L V8 diesel has separate left and right inlet manifold gaskets, so order the matching side, or both if you're removing both manifolds. Confirm which bank you're working on before ordering.
Does this fit all 4.4 V8 diesel Range Rovers?
This gasket fits the 4.4L DOHC DITC V8 diesel in Range Rover L322 (2010-2012, from VIN BA000001), L405 (2013), and Range Rover Sport L320 and L494 (2014). Use your VIN to confirm the engine and build, especially on the L322.
Why does an inlet manifold gasket need replacing?
Inlet manifold gaskets are replaced whenever the manifold is removed, as the seal takes a set and won't reseal reliably. A failed gasket lets unmetered air or oil past the joint. On the 4.4 V8 diesel, fit a new gasket as standard during manifold or EGR work.
