Genuine: Original manufacturer part.
This product is the original part designed and produced by the vehicle manufacturer.
Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor - an engine-management sensor mounted on the inlet manifold of the 4.4L DOHC DITC V8 diesel engine.
The sensor measures absolute pressure inside the inlet manifold and reports it to the engine control module, which uses the signal to calculate charge air density, regulate turbocharger boost and set fuelling and exhaust gas recirculation demand.
A drifting or failed sensor usually presents as reduced power, boost-control fault codes, smoke under load or poor throttle response rather than an outright non-start.
