The H11 uses the standardised PGJ19-2 base, which locates and keys the capsule in the fog lamp reflector so that the filament sits at the designed focal point. It is a single-filament type serving the front fog lamp function only. The H8, H9 and H11 share a similar envelope and connector family but differ in base keying and rated wattage, and are not interchangeable.

Handle the quartz envelope by the base only. Skin oils transferred to the glass form hot spots in service and shorten bulb life; if the glass is touched, clean it with alcohol before fitting.
