The 4.0 and 4.6 Rover V8 share the same block architecture but use different bore, internals, and ECU calibration. The 2.5 BMW M51 diesel is a separate engine family with a Mitsubishi TD04 turbocharger, a different flywheel interface to the Rover V8, and a modified gearbox input shaft.
