Genuine Part
Genuine: Original manufacturer part. This product is the original part designed and produced by the vehicle manufacturer.
Front Shock Absorber Insulator from the front suspension strut assembly.

It sits at the spring seat between the coil spring and the strut, isolating the spring from the surrounding structure and damping the transmission of road noise and small suspension inputs into the body. A perished or collapsed insulator allows metal-to-metal contact at the spring seat, which is heard as a knock over uneven surfaces.
Vehicle Model Land Rover Discovery Sport 2015+ (L550)

Fitment Notes DISCOVERY SPORT 2015 onwards — Front suspension strut/spring insulator, all engines

Frequently asked questions

What does the front shock absorber insulator do?
The front shock absorber insulator sits at the spring seat between the coil spring and the strut on the front suspension, isolating the spring from the surrounding structure and damping road noise and small suspension inputs into the body.
What are the signs the insulator has failed?
A knock or clonk over bumps from the front strut area is the usual sign the insulator has perished or collapsed, letting metal-to-metal contact at the spring seat. The noise typically comes through on rough surfaces and low-speed suspension movement.
How many front insulators are needed?
Typically one insulator per front strut, so two are needed to do both sides of the axle. Replacing them in pairs is usual practice, since both sides have seen the same age and mileage.
Which vehicles does this front insulator fit?
This front insulator fits the Discovery Sport (2015 onwards) and Range Rover Evoque L551 (2019 onwards), across all engines. Confirm your model and VIN, since suspension parts changed between Evoque generations.
