Inlet Valve for the 2.0L 4-cylinder petrol engine (AJ200 / AJ20P4), part of the cylinder head valve train.

It seals the inlet port against the combustion chamber and is opened by the camshaft acting through the follower, admitting the intake charge on the induction stroke. The valve runs in a guide pressed into the cylinder head and is held closed by the valve spring, which is located by the spring cap and collets; the seating face mates with the inlet valve seat in the head.

The valve stem seal, spring, cap and collets are separate components. Worn stems, guides or seating faces cause compression loss, poor running and oil consumption.
