Radiator Hose for the engine cooling circuit, carrying coolant between the radiator and the engine.

The hose forms one leg of the main coolant flow path. It is moulded to a fixed shape so that it clears the surrounding underbonnet components and holds its routing under vibration and thermal cycling, and it must contain the full system pressure at operating temperature.

This is a serviceable rubber component. Heat, pressure cycling and coolant additives harden the material over time; a hose that has gone hard and brittle, soft and spongy at the ends, or swollen at a connection is at risk of splitting and should be renewed rather than re-clamped.

For the 3.0L six-cylinder Ingenium AJ20P6 petrol engine.

Inspect the clamps and the mating stub pipes on assembly, then refill and bleed the cooling system to the correct procedure so that no air remains trapped in the circuit.
