Front Brake Pad Wear Sensor, part of the front brake pad and caliper assembly.

The sensor is a sacrificial wire loop held in a moulded carrier that locates in the front brake pad. As the friction material wears down to its service limit the disc cuts through the loop and breaks the circuit, triggering the brake pad wear warning at the instrument cluster.

The sensor is destroyed once it has triggered and is renewed with the front pads rather than reused. The same sensor is used with both the 19-inch and 20-inch front disc and caliper packages.

The LR153546LR front brake pad wear sensor is a sacrificial wire loop in a moulded carrier that sits in the front brake pad. Can the front wear sensor be reused?
The front wear sensor can't be reused once it's triggered, because the wire loop is destroyed when the disc cuts through it. Fit a new sensor with every front pad change. Reusing a broken sensor leaves you with no pad wear warning.
Does one sensor cover both 19-inch and 20-inch brakes?
The same front wear sensor is used with both the 19-inch and 20-inch front disc and caliper packages on the Range Rover L460 and Range Rover Sport L461. Typically one sensor is fitted on the front axle. Confirm your brake package by VIN if unsure.
