Crankshaft Position Sensor for diesel engine management, located at the cylinder block and block stiffener assembly facing the crankshaft.

The sensor reads the toothed reluctor ring on the crankshaft and supplies the engine control module with crankshaft speed and angular position. This is the primary reference for injection timing and engine synchronisation - without a valid crank signal the engine will not start.

Specified for the Td4 2.0L four-cylinder 16V turbo diesel (BMW M47) and the 3.0L inline-six diesel (M57 D30).
