Frequently asked questions

What is the IYF500030 drain plug washer for?
The IYF500030 is a sealing washer for the transfer box oil drain and level plugs on Discovery and Range Rover models fitted with a ZF transfer case. It seals the plug against the casing and is replaced every time the plug is removed.
Do I need this washer every time I check or top up the transfer box oil?
Yes, this washer should be replaced whenever the drain or level plug, such as the IYB500020 drain plug, is removed. Reusing a compressed washer risks a leak at the plug.
Which transfer box does this washer fit?
This washer fits the ZF transfer case used on Discovery 3, 4 and 5, and Range Rover and Range Rover Sport from L322/L320 through L405/L494. Later L405 and L494 models use a 2-speed transfer case with the same washer.
