Air conditioning compressor for the 4.4L V8 petrol and 4.2L supercharged V8 petrol air conditioning circuit.

Belt-driven from the engine, the compressor draws low-pressure refrigerant vapour from the evaporator, compresses it, and delivers it to the condenser where it gives up its heat. It is the pump that drives the entire refrigerant loop: if it fails internally the system will not build pressure and the air conditioning stops cooling.

Supplied as a compressor kit.

What has to be done to the air conditioning system when the compressor is replaced?
The refrigerant circuit must be recovered, evacuated and recharged with proper air conditioning service equipment, and the oil charge set to the workshop manual specification. Fitting the compressor is straightforward mechanically, but the system can't be recharged safely without that gear.
