Primary Drive Belt - the main accessory drive belt of the 5.0L supercharged V8 petrol engine, running from the crankshaft pulley around the front-end accessory drive.

It transmits crankshaft torque to the engine-driven ancillaries and is held under load by an automatic tensioner. On this engine the primary belt is separate from the secondary belt that drives the supercharger; the two differ in length and rib count and are not interchangeable. This belt is specified for the accessory drive layout used with Roll Stability Control.

Inspect for glazing, rib cracking and missing rib material at each service, and check the tensioner and idler pulleys for free movement whenever the belt is renewed.
