Idler Pulley for the front auxiliary drive belt on the 2.7 and 3.0 V6 diesel engines, part of the pulleys and drive belts assembly at the front of the engine.

The pulley is a non-driven guide. It sets the belt path and maintains belt wrap around the driven accessories without transmitting drive itself, turning on an integral bearing. A worn bearing usually announces itself as a rumble or squeal from the front of the engine that rises and falls with engine speed.

Where the auxiliary belt has covered significant mileage, renew the belt at the same time and check the condition of the belt tensioner while the front of the engine is accessible.
