Brake Caliper - Rear Left-Hand - the rear left caliper of the hydraulic braking system, carrying the piston assembly that clamps the brake pads against the rear disc.

The caliper converts fluid pressure delivered through the rear brake line into clamping force at the pad. Its piston bore and seals also govern how cleanly the pad releases once the brakes are off, so a sticking caliper shows up as rapid pad wear on one side of the axle.

Replacement is normally accompanied by fresh brake pads and a full bleed of the affected circuit.
