Intercooler - the charge-air cooler of the turbocharger induction system, mounted in the front cooling pack where it receives ram airflow.

Air leaving the turbocharger is heated by compression; the intercooler passes it through a finned core to lower its temperature before it reaches the inlet manifold, raising charge density and helping keep combustion temperatures in check. A leaking or blocked core shows up as reduced boost pressure and raised inlet air temperatures.

For 3.0L V6 turbocharged diesel applications.
