Charge Air Temperature Sensor for the charge-air system of the 3.0L V6 turbo diesel engine. The sensor sits in the intercooler ducting between the turbocharger and the inlet manifold.

It reports the temperature of the compressed intake charge to the engine control module, which combines this with the charge pressure signal to calculate air mass and set fuelling and boost. An out-of-range or failed sensor typically shows as reduced performance with a stored fault code.
