Brake Disc - rear vented, coated brake disc forming part of the rear braking assembly.

The disc provides the friction surface against which the rear brake pads clamp under braking. Its vented (internally ventilated) construction draws air through the disc to dissipate heat during sustained or heavy braking, reducing the risk of brake fade. It mounts to the rear hub and rotates with the road wheel.

A protective anti-corrosion coating is applied to the non-friction surfaces - the centre hat and outer edge - to resist rust and preserve appearance. The coating wears away from the friction band in normal use as the pads bed in.
