Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor - combined manifold absolute pressure and air charge temperature sensor for the 4.2L AJ V8 supercharged petrol engine.
The sensor is fitted into the inlet manifold downstream of the supercharger and charge air cooler, reporting both charge pressure and charge air temperature to the engine control module. From those two values the module derives air density and sets fuelling and boost control accordingly, so a drifting or failed sensor typically presents as rough running under load, reduced power or a stored charge pressure fault.
