Drive Belt Bracket - accessory drive bracket for the 4.4L AJ V8 EFI petrol engine (220 kW), part of the pulleys and drive belts assembly.

Bolts to the front of the engine and carries the idler and tensioner pulley hardware of the secondary belt run, fixing the pulley centre position that in turn sets belt alignment and wrap angle. Bracket condition therefore has a direct effect on belt life: a distorted or cracked bracket, or elongated mounting holes, lets the pulley run out of plane and produces belt edge wear, noise and eventually a thrown belt.

Inspect whenever the drive belt or pulleys are disturbed, and renew if the mounting faces, threads or locating features are damaged or corroded.
