Gear Selector Linkage Bush in the floor gear-change assembly of the ZF 6HP26 / 6HP28 6-speed automatic transmission.

The bush forms the pivot at the joint between the gear selector lever and the transmission gear change cable, locating the lever and transferring its movement to the cable without lateral play. Because the joint sits low in the transmission tunnel it is exposed to road salt and moisture, and a corroded or worn pivot is a common cause of vague, stiff or incomplete gear selection - the lever's travel is no longer translated cleanly into cable movement.

Renewing the bush restores the correct pivot geometry at the lever-to-cable joint.
